A computerized, direct-reading, digital instrument for measurement of back fat thickness. For accurate, scientific, and foolproof back fat grading through the use of ultrasound. Proven accurate to ±1 mm (.039"). Using a little coupling fluid, place the probe on the animal’s back and push the button. The number of fat layers and total depth of fat plus skin appear in big, bright, LED numbers in 10 seconds or less. Special computerized circuitry automatically measures up to the third layer of back fat. Measurements are non-invasive, and the animals are neither hurt nor irritated. Rechargeable NiMH battery pack will last approximately 2-4 years (1,000 charges/discharges) and gives 6-10 hours of testing on one charge. 115V battery charger is included. Lightweight, rugged all-metal construction. Range: 4-35 mm, ±1 mm (0.156"-1.365", ±0.039").
